This post is intended for all prospective students that wrote JAMB and scored 180 or below 200. We have compiled a list of universities that accept 180 in JAMB. So, if you scored up to that, you should not loose hope.

Also note that the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination is not the final Exam for admission into Nigerian Universities as you would be expected to write POST UTME.

List of All Nigerian Universities That Accept 180 as JAMB Cut off for 2020

1. University of Jos (UNIJOS)

The University of Jos is a federal university that has always accepted students who scored below 200 during their JAMB exams.

The reason this school reduced it is to allow admission of more students in the university, there by reducing illiteracy in the society at large.

2. TAI Solarin University of Education (TASUED)

The Tai Solarin University of Education is a top state university of education in Nigeria that also accepts students who wrote JAMB and scored 180 and above.

TASUED has always been the first most preferred institution in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Board examination for candidates. They offer qualified candidates admission into postgraduate, undergraduate and 4- year and 5- year part-time degree programmes.

3. Federal University Dutsin-Ma, Katsina

This school is one of the academic institutions established by Goodluck Jonathan administration in 2011. The mission of Federal University, Dutsin-ma centers on creating knowledge and imparting it through student centred approach learning.

  1. Federal University Oye-Ekiti

This school has admitted over 10,000 undergraduates since its inception in 2011. Most students who scored above 180 put this school as their first choice and are known to get admission quickly on their preferred course of study.

  1. Federal University, Otuoke, Bayelsa State

This Nigerian university was founded in 2011 and has been dully approved by JAMB to grant admission to its candidates who didn’t reach the required cut-off of 200 and above.

  1. Federal University of Technology Owerri, (FUTO)

FUTO is a federal school that is science inclined. Ranked as one of the best universities in Nigeria that is equipped, there are some courses in this academic institution that accept 180 to 200 as their cut off for JAMB.

Other professional courses go as high as 250. Please refer to FUTO’s website to know more about their admission process into various departments in the school

  1. Niger Delta University (NDU)

NDU offers admission into the following programmes, colleges and institutes; Undergraduate, Postgraduate, Entrepreneurship Centre, College of Preliminary Studies, Institute of Maritime Studies, Centre for Niger Delta Studies, College of Continuing Education, Institute of Education, ICT Centre, Integrated Centre for Biodiversity and Climate Change and Watersheds.

If you put this university as your first or second choice in your JAMB form, you might be lucky to get admission into this school which is pretty new.

  1. Ebonyi State University (EBSU)

EBSU is just one of the few state universities that accepts 180 as cut off in JAMB. So if you scored below 200, you might be lucky to get admission into this school if you put them as your preferred choice in your form.

As long as you passed and meet the requirements of RSUST, then you would be qualified to sit for their POST UTME.

This tertiary institution also accept 180 as JAMB cut-off mark for its candidates.

  1. Delta State University, Abraka (DELSU)

DELSU is one of the best state academic institution in the country accredited and approved by the National Universities Commission (NUC).

It has always been a preferred school of choice for candidates sitting for UTME exams.

  1. Abia State University, Uturu, (ABSUU)

Abia State University is another state owned universities in Nigeria with accredited courses. In a bid to facilitate admissions and bring professional skills, lecturing expertise backed up with modern research facilities to aid students to obtain higher education, the school has admits students who scored 180 or more in JAMB.

  1. Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun

Although, JAMB cut-off might be pegged at 200, this tertiary institution still admits those who have scored 180 for POST UTME.

  1. Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma

The minimum age set for entry into this tertiary institution is 16 years, so those who have their WAEC certificates and have written the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination can apply for any course of their choice.
According to Wikipedia, tuition fees into this school is N113,500.

  1. University of Calabar (UNICAL)

The University of Calabar is one of Nigeria’s second generation federal universities. The campus has also been the preferred choice for candidates looking for universities that accept 180 in JAMB 2020.

  1. Kogi State University, (KSU)

This tertiary institution is located in Kogi state and offers postgraduate, undergraduate, pre-degree and even part-time courses and programmes.

  1. Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike

MOUAU applicants seeking admission into first year 100 semester of any degree course in this university have to be qualified through meeting the requirements before they apply for Admission.

The minimum age for admission into MOUAU is 16 years. Students who are admitted into tertiary degree programmes via Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination -UTME organized by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) should have 180 or more than 200 as their score.

The candidate should at least possess a minimum of 5 credit passes at the SSCE or equivalent obtained at not more than 2 sittings in relevant subjects including English and Mathematics at WASC/SSCE/GCE O’ Level.

  1. Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU)

This is another state university that accept 180 in JAMB 2020. Although, it varies depending on the course you choose during your UTME.

For example, cut-off mark for Law, Accountancy and Mass Communication is normally pegged at 200 and above.

  1. University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID)

This school is located in the north and they offer quality education to their students. They also accept the same cut-off marks apart from professional courses.

  1. University of Uyo (UNIUYO)

UNIUYO is also listed among universities that accepts candidates who scored below 200 in their JAMB exams.

  1. Imo State University (IMSU)

IMSU is another Nigerian university that accepts 180 in JAMB exam. If you put this tertiary institution as your school of choice, you can also get admission but they use quota system a lot here.

  1. Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto
  2. Kaduna State University, (KASU)

KASU also accepts scores less than 200 for JAMB exam.

  1. Enugu State University

Enugu state university also accepts 180 and above for JAMB cut-off.
